Khaleda can\\\'t escape justice for arson attacks: Inu

Wednesday, 8 July 2015

A minister said on Tuesday BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's 'lies' will not help her escape the responsibility of burning people to death in arson attacks duringĀ  recent so-called blockade, reports UNB.
"She's telling lies to escape the responsibility of burning people to death in arson attacks. No matter how much she lies, she'll be brought to justice and also face the trial in the people's court," Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said.
Inu came up with the remarks at a press conference at the PID conference room, referring to Khaleda's recent remarks that it was the law enforcers, not BNP, who were involved in arson attacks and petrol bomb attacks during hartal and blockade programme of the 20-party alliance in the beginning of this year.
He said Khaleda will never get rid of the trial for burning people to death during the blockade, as the war criminals had not been relieved of the charges of their war crimes during the Liberation War of 1971.
"We don't want to see arson attackers and war criminals in the next polls," the Information Minister went on saying.
He also noted that he hopes Khaleda will be punished in different cases.
"Hope, she'll be punished in these cases. She'll only take part in the next elections, if she can escape the jail terms by the court," he said.
