Saturday, 27 September 2014
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia arrived in Jamalpur town this (Saturday) afternoon to address a mass rally in the district headquarters. Khaleda, who heads the 20-party alliance, arrived in the town around 2:30pm. This is her 4th public appearance since the national election that her party had boycotted on January 5. In her speech at the rally being held at the Jamalpur Zilla School ground, Khaleda is expected to reiterate her demand for fresh national polls under a non-party and neutral administration, dropping the 16th Amendment to the Constitution and taking back the National Broadcast Policy. Khaleda stayed at Tangail's Jamuna Resort after arriving there from Dhaka on Friday night and left the resort at 12 noon today, according to a news agency.
