Khaleda leave to appeal hearing Nov 6
Sunday, 26 October 2014
The Appellate Division has fixed November 6 for hearing the leave to appeal filed by BNP chief Khaleda Zia against a High Court verdict upholding the trial court order on charge-framing in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. The five-member bench, led by Supreme Court Chief Justice Muzammel Hossain, passed the order on Sunday. Supreme Court sources said the full bench fixed the date in response to an appeal filed by the lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for rescheduling the date of hearing on the leave to appeal by Khaleda Zia, also the former prime minister. The next hearing on Khaleda’s leave-to-appeal petition will take place in the regular bench of the apex court, the sources added, according to private TV channels.
