Khaleda leaves city for UK,US visit

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia Saturday left the city on a two-week long visit to UK and USA to strengthen her party's relations with these powerful countries, reports UNB. She flew to London en route to America from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a flight of Emirates Airlines at around 10:20 am. BNP leaders Khandaker Mosharrraf Hossain, Barrister Maudud Ahmed, Barrister Zamiruddin Sircar, Mirza Abbas, Sadek Hossain Khoka and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir saw off the BNP chairperson at the airport. During her visit in UK and USA Khaleda is scheduled to meet with political leaders and government officials of the two countries apart from holding meetings with expatriate Bangladeshis and her party leaders and workers. Khaleda will meet her elder son Tarique Rahman who is undergoing treatment in London. After staying a week in London she will fly to America on May 21 where she will stay for about a week. The BNP chairperson is scheduled to return home on May 29.
