Khaleda pays tributes to martyred intellectuals

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday paid glowing tributes to the martyred intellectuals at the Martyred Intellectuals Mausoleum at Mirpur in the city marking the Martyred Intellectuals Day. Khaleda, flanked by her party leaders and workers, placed a wreath at the mausoleum at about 9:50am. She stood in solemn silence there for some time to pay respects to the sacrifices of the martyred intellectuals. BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, MK Anwar, Mirza Abbas and Dhaka city BNP member secretary Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, among other senior party leaders, accompanied Khaleda. Earlier in the day, representatives of different other political parties and social-cultural organisations paid tributes to the martyred intellectuals at the Martyred Intellectuals Mausoleum, according to a news agency.
