Khaleda responsible for all losses in 3 months: Tofail

Monday, 6 April 2015

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for the loss of lives and property during the hartal and blockade programmes over the last three months, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said Sunday she will have to face trial for the losses, reports UNB.
"The big and small businessmen of the country have been incurring huge losses due to her nonstop blockade and hartal. The country's innocent people are the victims of her political programmes," he said while talking to reporters at his ministry.
"Hartal and blockade have tarnished the country's image abroad and the volume of buyer's orders has come down due to the political unrest," he said.
"What have you (Khaleda) gained in the last 92 days? You've achieved nothing except causing losses to the country's people," Tofail said.
Khaleda Zia had announced that he would not come out of her Gulshan office until the ouster of the government but she surrendered before the court Sunday and returned to her Gulshan residence, the Awami Leader quipped.
"Now people have raised voice against the subversive acts and arson attacks. I hope Khaleda will never choose that path again."
The minister also claimed that the country's situation has returned to normalcy due to effective initiatives of the law enforcement agencies.
