Khaleda responsible for violence: Nasim

Sunday, 25 January 2015

Health Minister Mohammed Nasim has held BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia responsible for continuous violence leading to a large number of deaths during the blockade, report agencies.
"She is now the leader of violence," Nasim said during a visit to the burn unit of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Saturday morning.
"People are burning in the flames of Khaleda Zia's vengeance. They are fighting with death at the burn unit of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital," he said.
"Although Begum Zia claims to be a democratic leader, she has turned into a leader of violence at present. People of the country demand measures against those who are unleashing violence."
Nasim said the government was not 'failing' to maintain law and order.
"Suddenly covert attacks are taking place. Police are trying to detain the assailants. Many have already been detained." The minister assured that the government would provide all sorts of support to ensure the proper treatment of the victims.
Nasim expressed grave concern over the physical condition of the victims of petrol and arson attacks at the DMCH. They became victims during the indefinite transport blockade of the BNP-Jamaat-led 20-party alliance.
He inquired about the condition of the victims and condemned the attack on general people.
Urging the political leaders and others not to crowd the burn unit for the sake of patients he said, "Please contact the hospital authority to help the patients or enquire about their condition," he said.
