Khaleda to address Suhrawardy Udyan rally Saturday

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia will address her party’s scheduled rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the city on Saturday. BNP is going to arrange the rally at 2pm to mark the civil-military ‘uprising’ that led to the release of then army chief Ziaur Rahman from captivity on November 7,  1975. ‘The BNP chairperson will address the rally as the chief guest,’ BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office on Thursday. Khaleda in a message greeted the people of the country on the occasion. The former Prime Minister urged the nationalist forces to get united imbued with the spirit of the day to prevent hegemonic forces for ensuring the basic rights of people and protecting the national independence and sovereignty, according to UNB.
