BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will make a courtesy call on visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday morning. ‘The BNP chief will meet the Indian External Affairs Minister at her (Sushma’s) invitation,’ Khaleda Zia’s press secretary Maruf Kamal has said. He said the meeting will be held at Sushma’s Sonargaon Hotel suite around 10:15am. Party sources said Khaleda will lead a BNP delegation, including the BNP acting Secretary General and some other senior leaders, to the meeting. According to sources close to Khaleda, the BNP chief at the meeting will discuss various issues relating to bilateral relations, January-5 election, country’s latest political situation, and will try to make her understand why an inclusive and early fresh election is needed in Bangladesh. Khaleda’s meeting with Sushma is also meant for raising their voice in line with other democratically-elected governments in the outside world for an inclusive election in Bangladesh to protect its democracy, according to a news agency.
