Khaleda to perform Umrah today

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in Saudi Arabia, will perform holy Umrah early today (Thursday), reports UNB. She offered munajat at holy Raoza Mubarak of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) in Madinah at 11:00 pm (Saudi local time) Tuesday. Khaleda prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh and its people as well as unity and solidarity of the Muslim Ummah. She also said her Asr, Magreb and Esha prayers at Masjid-e-Nabubi. Khaleda Zia left Madinah for Makkah via Jeddah Wednesday at 1:00 am (Saudi time), her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan told the news agency over phone. She is scheduled to perform Umrah at 2:30 am today (Saudi time). The BNP chairperson is expected to return home on April 3. Khaleda left Dhaka for Riyadh on March 20 at the invitation of Saudi government for her medical treatment. Her medical check up was carried out at King Faisal Specialised Hospital in Riyadh.
