Khaleda to return home by Qatar Emir’s air ambulance

Sunday, 4 May 2025

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will return home aboard a special plane (air ambulance) provided by the Emir of Qatar, according to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
"She will return home by the air ambulance Monday (May 5)".
Mirza Fakhrul gave this information at a press conference at the BNP Chairperson's Gulshan political office on Saturday night.
However, he said that it was not yet possible to be sure about the exact timing of her return home on Monday.
The BNP Secretary General said: "She will return aboard the same plane that carried her (Khaleda Zia) there, the Royal Ambulance of Qatar. “We cannot say the time for sure. The time will depend on various factors."
Earlier, the BNP had said that Khaleda Zia would leave for the country on a regular Bangladesh Biman flight from London's Heathrow Airport on Sunday evening. Her two daughters-in-law, Zubaida Rahman and Syeda Sharmila Rahman, are also coming home.
On January 8, Khaleda Zia went to London for advanced treatment. The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, learned about the physical illness of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and provided her with a special plane from the royal fleet.
She went to London on that special plane (a special type of air ambulance).
