Cultural activists along with relatives of some of those who died during the BNP-led 20-party's ongoing movement hung a list of the 54 victims in front of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's office on Sunday, reports UNB.
They also kept some roses in front of the office in an apparent message for Khaleda Zia to restore peace in the country by calling off the hartal and blockade programmes.
Noted actor Pijush Bandyopadhyay and actress and ruling party MP Tarana Halim led the programme.
After the human chain programme, a group of people marched towards the BNP chief's office at road No 86.
However, police intercepted them at the entry point of the road. Later, a five-member delegation, led by Mr Bandyopadhyay and Tarana Halim, was allowed to go in front of the BNP chief's Gulshan office with the list of the victims and roses.
Later, they hung the list of the 54 who died in violence, mainly in petrol bomb attacks, in front of the office. 'Khaleda Zia how more dead bodies do you want?' read the headline of the list.
At one stage, BNP chairperson's media wing members Sayrul Kabir Khan drew the attention of Mr Bandyopadhyay from inside the office, saying, "You should have also hung a list of those opposition leaders activists were killed and oppressed by law enforcers in front of the Prime Minister's Office."
