Khaleda urges IDB to increase assistance for BD

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, now in Saudi Arabia, has urged President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Dr Ahmad Mohamed Ali to increase his bank’s assistance for Bangladesh’s socio-economic development. Khaleda made the request when Dr Ahmad met her at her Makkah Royal Palace suite on Wednesday, her press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan told UNB from Makkah. During the hour-long meeting, Khaleda and Dr Ahmad discussed various issues of related to the IDB in particular, and the Muslim Ummah in general, he said. BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman was also present.
