Publicity and Publication affairs secretary of the ruling Awami League Dr Hasan Mahmud said on Wednesday BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has got no right to seek vote from people, reports BSS.
"Over the past three months, Khaleda Zia tried to keep people under siege by enforcing blockade-hartal programmes. She has killed people by hurling petrol bombs. For this reason, she has lost her right to seek vote from people," he said.
Dr Mahmud said this while speaking at a press conference at the political office of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city.
The Awami League leader said, "I would like to request Begum Zia to move from door to door to seek apology to those families of petrol bomb victims, either burnt alive or suffered burn wounds, before seeking vote from people."
"Khaleda Zia has sought votes for those who led and financed the petrol bomb attacks.” Mahmud added.
