Khaleda's imprisonment creates no reaction among people: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Wednesday the imprisonment of Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case has made no reaction among the people that is why the party is now complaining over the issues to foreigners, report agencies.
"If we make any injustice to anybody, he or she should complain to our country people. All parties should do this. But BNP makes complaints to foreigners." he told a function at Chouhat of Dhamrai upazila here after inaugurating a newly-constructed bridge on the Bangshi River.
No corrupt person will be allowed to escape during the Awami League rule, Obaidul Quader warned.
"Terrorists and drug traders have no place in Awami League and on corrupt person will be allowed to escape either during the regime of AL," he said.
"The only goal of Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina is to lead the country towards advancement and Awami League will return to power in the next general election. It's the country's people who will vote that party to power which will work for development," he added.
Local lawmaker MA Malek and former lawmaker and Dhaka district Awami League President Benjir Ahmed were present on the occasion, among others.
The minister also formally inaugurated newly constructed Balia-Warsi- Mirzapur road here.
The 216-metre Bangshi bridge has been built at a cost of around Tk 17.5 crore while the construction cost of the 3-kilometre road is around Tk 9 crore. Besides, acquisition of around 5.5 hectares of land cost around Tk 13.5 crore.
