Tuesday, 5 August 2014

Awami League (AL) Advisory Council member and former Railway Minister Suranjit Sengupta said Monday BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's politics of jealousy and conspiracy is not suitable in the present days, reports BSS.
"Pursuance of her (Begum Zia) politics of killing, jealousy and conspiracy like that of 20th century is not suitable for the 21st century. She should have to discard this," he said.
Mr Sengupta, a senior parliamentarian of the ruling AL, said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on current politics at the Diploma Engineers' Institution auditorium at Kakrail in the capital.
Bangabandhu Academy organised the discussion marking the 65th birthday of Sheikh Kamal, eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Adviser of the Academy and joint general secretary of Dhaka City AL Haji Md Selim chaired the discussion, also addressed, among others, by Prime Minister's Adviser Dr Moshiur Rahman, AL Advisory Council member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun and office secretary and former state minister for works Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan.
Pointing at Khaleda Zia, Mr Sengupta said, "Why people will take part in your movement? We have not experienced in the past such a good administration like this year during Eid. The prices of essentials did not soar this time as the administration remained alert."
"There was no incident of crimes anywhere during the Eid though the Eid shoppers spent an additional amount of Tk 100 billion. I have not experienced such a peaceful and disciplined Eid celebration in my life," he said.
The senior AL leader said, "Khaleda Zia should have to reevaluate her politics switching over to time-befitting and modern politics. In these days of globalisation, our leader Sheikh Hasina could come up to the need in the politics of South-Asia. From this Khaleda Zia should take lessons from Sheikh Hasina. Otherwise, nothing could be achieved permanently other than showing temporary sparks."
Prime Minister's Adviser Dr Moshiur Rahman said, "There are no words for development of the people in BNP's movement. They have no thought for development of the country. That's why people won't accept them. It would be a time -consuming affairs if they want to take recourse to constitutional politics after rectifying themselves."
