Khaleda's remarks provocative: ISPR
Wednesday, 11 January 2012
An Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) release Tuesday termed main opposition leader Khaleda Zia's Monday's comments on army officers as false, unexpected and provocative, reports BSS.
The release said Khaleda Zia in a public meeting at Polo Ground in Chittagong falsely alleged that the army officers are being 'abducted' for destroying the army.
"Her comments, published in different mass media, were confusing and provocative," it said.
"It is an attempt to create disorder and tarnish the image of a national disciplined force like Bangladesh Army," it added.
The release said the nation doesn't expect such kind of false, provocative and irresponsible comments from a person, assuming a responsible post like leader of opposition.
The ISPR release said the army is operated under specific rules and regulations. Action has been taken against anyone found breaching the rules and regulations. There is no scope to spread confusion.
"The army would not be destroyed, if anyone faces disciplinary action, rather it becomes more disciplined and professional and stronger force," the release added.
Terming the Bangladesh Army as a national institution, the release said it seeks cooperation from all to protect the goodwill and image of the force.
