Khandker Mosharraf takes charge of LGRD ministry

Khandker Mosharraf Hossain has taken charge of the LGRD ministry after meeting his predecessor Syed Ashraful Islam. Syed Ashraf is Awami League general secretary. Khandker Mosharraf went to Syed Ashraf’s residence at Bailey Road at 11am on Sunday and left after 15 minutes. The ex-LGRD minister’s aide Syed Tofazzal Hossain said it was a scheduled meeting. After meeting the Awami League’s general secretary, Khandker Mosharraf went to the Secretariat. He met the officials of the ministry after taking the charge.  Syed Ashraf, now a minister without portfolio, was allotted the house at Bailey Road as the LGRD minister. Khandker Mosharraf, father-in-law of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed Hossain Putul, was looking after the expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment ministry before his now job, according to a news agency.
