Khanjahan manager on five-day remand for Cocaine smuggling

A Chittagong court on Thursday granted a fresh five-day remand to Golam Mostafa Sohel, manager of Khanjahan Ali enterprise, of Khatungonj for his alleged involvement in bringing cocaine with imported sunflower oil through Chittagong port.
The court of senior Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Farid Alam, granted the fresh five-day remand as police prayed for a five-day one, BSS reported.
Earlier, the same court also granted five-day remand on 30 June after police prayer.
The Custom Intelligent sealed 107 drums sunflower oil at the NCT yard of the Chittagong port on June 7 based on an intelligence report.
Existence of liquid cocaine has been found in barrels of edible oil, seized from a container at Chittagong Port, after their contents were retested in the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) and Bangladesh Drug Testing Laboratory (BDTL).
