Khash land distributed among landless in Khulna

KHULNA, Apr 22: After a long gap, the present government has decided again to distribute Khash land among the landless people and agricultural labourer who depend on agriculture on the basis of previous policy.
Source said that khash land would be distributed among 120 families in nine upazilas of Khulna district by June -30 as per government decision.
Khash land distribution programme had been started in 1987 and a large number of khash land were distributed among the landless people. However, with the establishment of democratic government in 1991 the programme got slowed down. After getting into power, the Awami League government decided to distribute the khash land again among the landless people.
