Khulna Chamber, UK High Commission sign MoU on trade

KHULNA, Feb 24: Khulna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with British High Commission on trade expansion at the KCCI conference room Monday.

Head of Immigration of British High Commission Stuart Percival was present as chief guest on the signing ceremony.

KCCI President Shaharuzzaman Mortoja presided over the function.

British High Commission Officials Najneen Ferdousi, Liton Biswas, Narayan Nath and office bearers of KCCI Farhad Ahmed Akond, Sayed Gofranuzzaman, Mohammad Amin and Shahadat Hossain were present, among others, on the occasion.

With the signing of the MOU, trade between businesses in UK and Khulna businessmen will increase substantially, the guests expressed hope at the ceremony.

The British High Commissioner also attended a seminar on 'UK visas' at local Zia Hall Monday afternoon. The seminar focused on details of the global changes to UK immigration procedures Under Point-based Systems (PBS).

Khulna City Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque was present at the seminar as chief guest while Deputy Commissioner NM Ziaul Alam was special guest.
