Khulna City AL council today

KHULNA, Nov 28 (BSS): The triennial council of Khulna city unit of Awami League (AL) will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 10.00 am at Khulna Circuit House Ground.
In this connection, a press conference was held today at the VIP lounge of Khulna Press Club where city unit AL President Talukder Abdul Khaleque, MP, read out a written statement. City unit AL general secretary Mizanur Rahman Mizan, MP, also spoke.
Describing successes of the government in various sectors, especially in the Khulna region during the last six years former mayor of Khulna City Corporation said all preparations have been taken to make the council a success.
AL general secretary and LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Sayed Ashraful Islam is expected to attend the council as the chief guest while AL presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP is expected to inaugurate the session.
Presidium member of AL Kazi Zafarullah, joint secretary general of AL Mahbubul Alam Hanif and Zahangir Kabir Nanak, Information and Research Secretary adv. Afzal Hossain, Health and Population Affair Secretary Dr. Bodiuzzaman Bhuiyan Dablu, central AL members and lawmakers Begum Monnuzan Sufian, Sheikh Helal Uddin, Dherendra Debnath Shambhu, State Minister for Jute and Textile Mirza Azam, Administrator of Narail District Council Subhash Chandra Bose, central leader of AL Mostofa Faruk Mohammad, Administrator of Khulna District Council and Khulna District Unit AL president Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, general secretary S M Mostofa Rashidi Suza, MP, central leaders f AL S M Kamal Hossain and State Minister for Fisheries and Live Stock Naryan Chandra Chanda is expected to attend the occasion as special guests while organizing secretary of AL B M Mozzammel Haque, MP, will also attend the session.
The working session of the council will be held at the officers' club at 3.00pm.
Meanwhile, the entire city has been decorated with colourful placards, banners, festoons and posters.
Besides, a total of 158 arches have been erected at different points in the city, according to media sub -committee.
Last council of Khulna city AL was held on January 15, 2004.
