After four days of work abstention, doctors have postponed their indefinite strike in the district until July 15 following assurance from the local MP and the administration of looking into their demands. The decision came at a joint meeting of the local chapter of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), Bangladesh Private Medical Practitioners Association (BPMPA) and Bangladesh Private Clinic and Diagnostic Owners’ Association (BPCDOA) on Tuesday night. BMA central vice-president Dr Sheikh Baharul Alam said they have postponed their strike for seven days after local MP Mizanur Rahman and Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Harunur Rashid assured them of meeting their demands, according to a news agency.
