KHULNA, Dec 12: A devastating fire burnt down a residential hotel and business establishments at Morelganj of Bagerhat district Saturday.
Police and locals said fire originated from a cigarette at about 9 am and engulfed the first floor of the hotel quickly.
On information, the local fire fighting unit rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts with the help of local people.
The affected Nid Mohal Hotel owner claimed that the fierce fire burnt down all portion of the first floor and Talukder Printing press, Rangdhanu Telecom and a furniture shop in the ground floor.
