Khulna-Jessore Road

The Khulna-Jessore road connecting Kolkata happened to be an import road during the British rule. This road also connected the Grand Trunk Road to Delhi. Despite disparities during Pakistani days, this road was in good shape. Similar condition continued during Bangladeshi period till a few years back.
Unfortunately this road is too bad to be described and one is to think several times before taking the Jessore-Khulna road in the event of emergency. The Zimbabwe cricket team is supposed to play a cricket match in Khulna but the authority is worried about the probable back pain of the players as they will have to use this road for reaching Khulna from Jessore Airport. Should not the authority look into it in the name of good governance and accountability?
