Khulna rout Barisal by innings in Nat’l Cricket

Khulna Division routed Barisal Division by an innings and 178 runs on the final day of the first round four-day match of Walton 16th National Cricket League at BKSP Ground-2 in Savar Wednesday, reports UNB.
In two other matches of the league, Dhaka Metro outplayed Rajshahi Division by 285 runs at BKSP ground-3 while Rangpur Division beat Chittagong Division by 225 runs at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
In another match that ended Tuesday, Dhaka Division trounced Barisal Division by an innings and 413 runs on the 3rd day of the four-day affairs at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The second round matches of the league will begin Sunday (February 1).
Dhaka Division will face Dhaka Metro at Khan Saheb Osamn Ali Stadium in Fatullah while Rajshahi Division will meet Chittagong Division at Fatullah Outer Stadium, Rangpur Division will take on Sylhet Division at BKSP Ground-3 and Khulna Division will fight against Barisal Division at BKSP Ground-2 in Savar.
Sylhet Division resumed the second innings with their overnight score of 137 runs for 7 in 49 overs and were miserably all out for 174 runs in 58.5 overs.
Number seven Anwar Akbar scored team highest 44 runs off 95 balls with four fours and two sixes while Nazmul Hossain (20) was the other double digit scorer on the final day.
Veteran spinner Abdur Razzak claimed seven wickets for 71 runs in the second innings while Syed Rassel, Ziaur Rahman and Murad Khan took one wicket each for 14, 33 and 44 runs respectively.
Tushar Imran who hit an unbeaten century of 177 runs in the first innings for Khulna Division was adjudged man of the match.

Sylhet Division second innings: (overnight 137/7 in 49 overs); Anwar Akbar 44, Nazmul Milon 24, Nazmul Hossain 20; Abdur Razzak 7/71, Syed Rassel 1/14, Ziaur Rahman 1/33, Murad Khan 1/44.
On the other hand, in their pursuit of 359 runs to win the match, Rajshahi Division (218 runs in the first innings) resumed the second innings with the overnight score of 101 for 6 in 23 overs and were dismissed for 174 runs in 44.4 overs.
Number four Forhad Hossain scored unbeaten 85 runs off 125 balls featuring 13 fours and one six while number eight Mukter Ali (29) and Saqlain Sajib (11) were the other double digit scorers for their side on the fourth day.
Saykat Ali grabbed five wickets for 45 runs and Elias Sunny took two wickets for 22 runs in the second innings.
