Kid drowns in pond

SYLHET, July 22 (UNB): A kid got drowned in a pond at Alipur village under Balalganj Upazila Friday.
Local people said Faisal Mia (3), son of Kuddus Mia of the village, at one stage of playing suddenly slipped into a pond adjacent to their house at about 3:00 pm and drowned.
Later, the family members after a hectic search found the body floating in the pond at 5:00 pm and recovered it.
The news of his tragic death cast a deep gloom over the area.
