Kidnapped businessman rescued, 5 held

Police rescued a businessman 12 hours after his abduction and arrested five who abducted him in Gazipur district. Abdullah Al Kaiser, 36, was rescued with his hands and feet tied to a mango grove in Rosulpur under Kaliakoir Upazila around 8pm on Saturday. The abductors – Shamon Miah, Syed Munna Rizvi, Arong Khan, Habibur Rahman and Syed Rahat Hossain – were arrested when they came to take ransom. The victim is tenant of Shamon Miah. Kaiser’s wife Tajnuba Khanam said five miscreants including house owner Miah kidnapped her husband from the house in the morning. Later they made a call from her husband’s cell phone and demanded Tk 300,000 as ransom. Khanam went to a place to give the ransom and police caught Miah red-handed there, Kaliakoir Police Station’s SI Rajib Khan said. He said the businessman was rescued later based on Miah’s information, according to bdnews24.com.
