Kidney dialysis facility to be expanded to Sadar hospitals: Minister

Minister for Health Dr AFM Ruhal Haque Thursday said Kidney dialysis centres would be expanded to the district Sadar hospitals in phases, reports BSS.
"Doctors and equipment needed would be provided at Sadar hospitals in phases so that kidney patients do have access to dialysis at cheapest costs at public hospitals."
The Health Minister stated this while speaking at a discussion jointly organised by Bangladesh Renal Association (BRA), Kidney Foundation and Bangladesh Diabetic Association that marked the World Kidney Day in Bangladesh and elsewhere in the world in the city Thursday.
State Minister for Health Mojibur Rahman Fakir, president of Kidney Foundation Prof Harun-Ur-Rashid, national professor MR Khan, vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Prof Dr Pran Gopal Datta, president of Bangladesh Diabetic Association Prof AK Azad Khan, secretary general of Bangladesh Renal Associ-ation Prof Shahidul Islam Selim and director of National Kidney Institute Prof Mohammad Firoz Khan also spoke on the occasion chaired by Prof Mohammad Habibur Rahman.
