Kidney specialist alleges Tk 0.5m extortion bid by Jubo Dal activist

Country's renowned kidney specialist Dr Kamrul Islam alleged on Saturday that a man identifying himself as a Jubo Dal activist tried to extort Tk 0.5 million from him.
Dr Kamrul told the media that Jubo Dal activist Moinuddin started trying to exert influence at his Centre for Kidney Diseases and Urology (CKDU) Hospital in Dhaka's Shyamoli. His actions have become highly "aggressive" in recent days.
"Moinuddin wants to forcibly take over its food supply contract. He is creating various obstacles as I refused."
Moinuddin entered the residence of a senior hospital staff member on Friday and demanded Tk 0.5 million. Terrified, the staffer locked himself inside a room.
