BRAHMANBARIA, Jul 29: Most of the kindergarten (KG) schools, set up in the district town and its adjacent areas in recent times, are doing brisk business without ensuring quality education, sources said.
Guardians alleged that teachers are being imparted sub-standard education to students, as most of the KG schools lack proper accommodation, adequate furniture, waiting rooms for guardians, playground and sports materials, etc.
They expressed deep concern at the poor standard of education imparted at the schools in spite of spending 10-12 times more money than that of government schools.
According to the sources, kindergarten education has become a racket in the area. More than 25 KG schools have been set up in the town area. Even several kindergartens have also sprung up in rural areas.
Generally, students are admitted to these schools to study from playgroup to standard five.
Besides, guardians have to spend handsome money for school dress, badge, book, school-diary, transportation cost etc.
It is alleged that the authorities of these KG schools maintain a relationship with different book sellers, tailors and other stationery shops from where they get handsome commission.
Moreover, talented and skilled teachers are not available in these institutions with the authorities appointing low-qualified teachers with nominal salary.
