Knit factory fined for pollution in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, Jan 11 (UNB): A special team of Environment Department in a drive fined a composite factory at Gorgoria Masterbari area of Sripur Upazila on Wednesday.
Enforcement Director of Environment Department Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said Meghna Knit Composite Limited was fined Tk 2.4 million for using by-pass line illegally for dumping polluted liquid waste and harmful chemicals in the river Turag though they have an ETP in their factory.
