Knit workers block road in Gazipur for wage, Eid bonus

GAZIPUR, Apr 01 (UNB): Demanding wage and Eid bonus, workers of Keya Knit Composite Limited in Konabari Jarun area of Gazipur blocked a road on Monday.
Sumon Mia, administrative officer of the factory, said the workers' salary for the month of February is outstanding.
It has been announced that all their dues will be paid before Eid. That's why they did not join work and took to the streets, he said.
KM Ashraf Uddin, officer-in-charge of Konabari Police Station, confirmed the matter.
Police went to the spot and asked the workers to move away from the street.
After talks with the workers, they were taken to the factory, and the situation is normal now, the OC said.
