Korea to invest $7.619m in Karnaphuli EPZ

M/s. Dae Myung Shoes and Accessories Limited, a Korean company, will set up a shoe and shoe accessories manufacturing industry in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone.

This foreign owned company will invest about Tk 520 million (52 crore) in setting up their plant and will produce items to export those.

The company will also create employment opportunity for 1755 Bangladeshis and 05 foreign nationals.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority and the M/s. Dae Myung Shoes and Accessories Limited in BEPZA Complex Monday.

Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Prasanta Bhushan Barua and President of M/s. Dae Myung Shoes and Accessories Limited Han-Pyo Yoon signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Officials of BEPZA and the company were also present on the occasion.
