Korean co raises investment at KEPZ

M/s HKD International (KEPZ), a Korean company will expand its business arena for manufacturing Tent industry in Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), said a press release.
Earlier, its proposed investment was $4.422 million (approximately), which will be increased up to $16.280 million.
Due to this increased investment, there will be employment opportunities for 3,523 Bangladeshi nationals including 23 foreign nationals in M/s HKD International (KEPZ) Limited.
In this connection, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s HKD International (KEPZ) Limited at BEPZA complex in the city recently.
BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Md Moyjuddin Ahmed and HKD International (KEPZ) Limited President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Davis Park signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations in the city recently.
Also present at the signing ceremony were, BEPZA Executive Chairman Brig Gen Jamil Ahmed Khan, Member (Finance) AKM Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi, General Manager (Investment Promotion) AZM Azizur Rahman.
