Korean co to invest $8m in Karnaphuli EPZ

Korean enterprise Park (Bangladesh) Company Limited will set up a luggage and handbag manufacturing industry in the Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (EPZ).

This 100 per cent foreign-owned company will invest about Tk 560 million in setting up their plant and will produce annually 8 million pieces different types of bags for export. The company will also create employment opportunity for 4250 Bangladeshis and 30 foreign nationals.

An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Park (Bangladesh) Company at BEPZA Complex in the city Sunday.Park (Bangladesh) Chairman Chan Yong Park signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

BEPZA Executive Chairman Jamil Ahmed Khan and other officials from both sides were present on the occasion.
