Koyes Sami elected convenor of ex-AB Bank Forum

A meeting of former top executives of AB Bank, first private sector joint venture bank in the country (previously known as Arab Bangladesh Bank Limited) was held recently at Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Anwar Ahmed, former Managing Director of National Credit & Commerce Bank Limited and Al-Baraka Bank Limited.
 About 30 top executives and CEO of different private sector Banks of the country were present in the meeting. These executives & CEOs in their early days worked for AB Bank Ltd.
They have decided to form a forum (body) which will contribute for the growth of the banking sector and entrepreneur level of the country. They will also try to guide the future bankers discharging their duties for betterment of the clients, banks and the country as a whole.
It may be recalled that the readymade garments sector has flourished under the guidance and the facilitation of A B Bank primarily and idea of syndication loan was implemented first in the country by all these veteran bankers.
Mr. C.M. Koyes Sami, Managing Director & CEO of Probashi Kallyan Bank and also former managing Director of A B Bank has been elected the convenor of the forum. The other members of the committee are Mr. Khondaker Fazle Rashid, Advisor of Premier Bank Limited and former Managing Director of Dhaka Bank Limited; Mr. Rais Khan, former EVP of A B Bank Limited; Mr. Towhidul Islam, former MD of Hajj Finance; Mr. Shah Mohammad Nurul Alam, former Managing Director of Southeast Bank Limited, Prime Bank Limited and Mercantile Bank Limited; Mr. M.H.Sufyani, former DMD of A B Bank Limited and Mr. Reazul Al Mamun, Chairman of Epilion and former executive of A B Bank Limited.
Mr. Anwar Ahmed and Mr Syed Anisul Haque will be patrons of the convening committee, said a statement.
