KPPL to make debut trading today

Shares trading of Khulna Printing and Packaging Limited (KPPL) will begin on the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange today (Monday) under 'N' category, officials said.
KPPL is the second listed company under the 'Paper and Printing' category in the Dhaka bourse after Hakkani Pulp & Paper.
The DSE trading code for the company is "KPPL" and DSE company code is 19511 while CSE scrip ID is 19010 and scrip code is 'KPPL'. A market lot is 500 shares.
Stock market regulator Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved the initial public offering (IPO) of the company in March this year, allowing it to raise Tk 400 million from the public.
The IPO subscription was held between May 4 and May 8 for resident Bangladeshis while it continued till May 17 for non-resident Bangladeshis. The company received around 7 times higher IPO subscription against its demand offer. IPO lottery was held on June 5.
Using the fixed price method, the packaging company floated 40 million ordinary shares worth Tk 10 each to raise the required amount to meet working capital needs and pay back bank loans.
Sonali Investment Ltd, a concern of state lender Sonali bank, acted as manager of the Khulna Printing's IPO.
The company's earnings per share stood at Tk 2.82 and net asset value per share at Tk 24.26 as on June 2013.
The company has also reported its profit after tax Tk 42.50 million and basic EPS Tk 1.61 for three months ended on 31 March 2014 (Jan 2014-March 2014) as against profit after tax of Tk 27.77 million and basic EPS of Tk 1.05 for the same period of the previous year.
For the period of 9 (nine) months (July 2013 to March 2014) ended on 31 March 2014 profit after tax was Tk 64.89 million and basic EPS was Tk 2.46 as against profit after tax of Tk 52.61 million and basic EPS of Tk 1.99 for the same period of the previous year.
Khulna Printing and Packaging, a sister concern of Lockpur Group, produces packaging materials for export industries, specially frozen sea food, according to the company's website.
The firm produces poly bags, non-printed poly bags in different sizes, sticker and rider.
