KSA extends visa of BD workers up to Oct 30

FE REPORT | Thursday, 8 October 2020

Saudi Arabia has further extended the tenure of visa and work permits of Bangladeshi workers up to October 30, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Wednesday.
This will greatly help ease the trouble facing the Bangladeshi expatriates who came back home but got stuck here due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he added.
Earlier, the tenure of visas and work permits was extended up to October 18.
Saudi Arabia is the largest employer of the Bangladeshi expatriate workers.
Out of 11 million Bangladeshi workers staying across the world, over 2.2 million workers are employed in the Gulf country.
On Tuesday, Saudi envoy Yahya Al Qarni said that if necessary, there can be further extension of visa and Akama to facilitate the return of Bangladeshi workers to Saudi Arabia.
