KSA to increase facilities of Bangladesh workers

Saudi Arabian Majlis al Shura Chief (Speaker) Abdullah Ibn Muhammad Al ash-Sheikh has expressed interest to increase existing facilities of Bangladeshi expatriate workers there for ensuring their welfare, reports BSS. President M Zillur Rahman was apprised of this by the Bangladesh-Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Friendship Group when a delegation of the group called on him at Bangabhaban Monday. Bazlul Haque Harun, MP, led the delegation that included AKM Awual, MP, Mahmud us Samad Chowdhury, MP, Benjir Ahmed, MP, M Nazrul Islam Babu, MP, Gias Uddin Ahmed, MP and Talukder M Yunus, MP. The delegation apprised the President that a nine-member team of the group visited Saudi Arabia from 15 to 24 April this year to hold discussion with Chief of Majlis al Shura and Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Prof Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu. They informed the President that they made fruitful discussion with Chief of Saudi Arabian Majlis al Shura about increasing the facilities of Bangladeshi workers there as well as recruiting more Bangladeshi manpower to Saudi Arabia. "Chief of Majlis al Shura showed his keen interest to increase facilities of Bangladeshi workers there," the delegation members informed. About the meeting with OIC Secretary General, they said Prof Ihsanoglu lauded the role of President M Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the development process of Bangladesh. Concerned Secretaries of the President's Office were present.
