KSE index loses 87.10 points

KARACHI, Dec 5 (Business Recorder): The Karachi share market Friday witnessed another dull session due to investors' lack of interest over the prevailing economic, political and law and order situation in the country. After moving to both sides, the KSE-100 index closed at 9,009.13 points with a net loss of 87.10 points.
Trading remained thin at 103.799 million shares as compared to 103.789 million shares traded on Thursday. Market capitalisation declined by Rs 22 billion to Rs 2.609 trillion. Of 365 active scrips, 208 closed in negative and 147 in positive while the value of 10 scrips remained unchanged. D S Ind was the overall volume leader with 8.289 million shares. However, it lost Re. 0.06 to close at Rs 3.79.
SilkBank and Bank of Khyber gained Re. 0.87 and Re. 0.52 to close at Rs 5.98 and Rs 5.24 with 8.057 million shares and 2.815 million shares respectively, while BoP lost Re. 1.00 to close at Rs 16.06 with 4.296 million shares. Jahangir Siddiqui Co declined by Rs 1.53 to close at Rs 29.81 with 7.145 million shares. Pervez Ahmed gained Re. 0.22 to close at Rs 5.50 with 6.672 million shares.
Pace (Pak) lost Re. 0.03 to close at Rs 5.71 with 5.384 million shares. JOV&Co declined by Re. 0.64 to close at Rs 11.12 with 4.481 million shares.
