KSE index up 6.49 points

KARACHI, Jan 14 (Business Recorder): Profit taking in late hours minimised the intra-day gains Wednesday and the KSE-100 index closed at 9,784.85 points with a nominal gain of 6.49 points. The market opened on a positive note and the index hit 9,875.00 points intra-day high level, up 96.64 points. However, profit taking after mid-session dropped the index.
Trading improved slightly and the volume at ready counter increased to 127.309 million shares as compared to 111.543 million shares traded Tuesday. Market capitalisation declined by Rs 7 billion to Rs 2.809 trillion. Of 411 active scrips, 190 closed in positive and 188 in negative, while the value of 33 scrips remained unchanged.
