KARACHI, Sept. 15 (Bloomberg): Karachi Stock Exchange, Pakistan's biggest, plans to invite fresh bids for two brokerage licenses after it failed to receive sufficient interest.
"We didn't receive substantial bids," Anita Mirza, spokeswoman for the exchange, said by telephone from Karachi today. The exchange will invite bids after the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday next week, she said.
In July, the stock exchange had invited bids for the purchase of one brokerage license and put a second seat on the selling block on Sept. 3. Bidders were asked to apply by Sept. 11, with payment of 10 per cent of the amount offered.
