KU student dies as jeep overturns into ditch in Sajek

A student from Khulna University (KU) has been killed after a tourist jeep crashed into a ditch on a hillside in Rangamati's Sajek, reports bdnews24.com.
Eleven others have been injured in the accident. Baghaichhari Upazila Administrator (UNO) Amena Marzana said the accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Sajek's Housepara.
The deceased has been identified as Rubina Akhtar Rinki, a student in the Department of Physics.
A group of students from KU were headed from Khagrachhari to Sajek on a tourist jeep, known locally as a Chander Gari, on Wednesday morning, she said. Along the way, the vehicle veered out of control as it attempted to climb a high hill in the Housepara area and fell into a deep ditch.
There were 12 people on board the vehicle and Rinki died on the spot.
When the incident was reported, Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and police personnel, alongside locals, conducted rescue operations and took the injured to the Dighinala Upazila Health Complex.
