Kuet teacher sent on forced retirement

KHULNA: A teacher of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) has been sent on forced retirement for taking courses at a private university in Chittagong without permission, according to a news agency.
A circular issued by the Kuet registrar office Thursday said Prof M Abdus Samad of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department of the university was sent on forced retirement because carried out the job of the Dean of the Science and Engineering Faculty at University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) without taking any permission from the Kuet authorities.
His employment at USTC violated section 4(3) (Kha) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1985, according to the circular.
The Kuet syndicate formed a probe committee following the allegation against Prof M Abdus Samad in September last year.
