Kurigram schoolgirl killed after gang-rape

A schoolgirl was strangulated to death allegedly after gang-rape by three youths in Roumari upazila in Kurigram district on Sunday. The victim was a resident of Boalmari village. Locals said Ayiub Ali, son of Abdul Baten of Boalmari village, along with his two local friends went to the victim’s house at noon and remained hidden in the kitchen. When the victim entered the kitchen, the trio violated her one after another. Later, the rapists strangulated her and left the scene in a hurry. However, Ayiub died of cardiac arrest as he was on the run. Family members of the victim said Ayiub had been disturbing her for long. Officer-in-Charge of Roumari Police Station Sohrab Hossain confirmed the incident. The body of the victim was sent to a local hospital for autopsy, according to UNB.
