Kuwait likely to ease curbs on Bangladeshi workers

Bangladeshi workers of some categories in Kuwait will soon be able to change their jobs under the same sponsor as the Kuwaiti government has decided to withdraw restriction on transfer of residency. For instance, domestic workers can be transferred to private sector companies and vice versa as well as from one government sector to another. Bangladeshi workers are now completely restricted from any transfer of residency. An official delegation to Kuwait, led by Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment secretary Abdul Matin Chowdhury, apprised Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury of the outcome after their return Thursday. —UNB
