Labour export to Malaysia is expected to dominate agenda when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visits Malaysia early next month, helping to strengthen bilateral ties between the two brotherly nations, reports UNB.
Both sides are working on the visit that might take place on December 3-4, said an official Sunday.
Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur are likely to sign three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, cultural cooperation; and promotion of tourism between the two countries.
Meanwhile, an inter-ministerial meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry with Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque in the chair on Sunday.
The meeting discussed the various aspects of the visit, and sought inputs from the relevant ministries to set priorities for the visit.
Though the priority areas are yet to be finalised, manpower issue might dominate the agenda of the upcoming visit, sources at the Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak extended an invitation to Hasina during his visit to Dhaka in November 2013.
The Prime Minister has so far visited Myanmar, Japan, China, the UK, the USA, Italy and the UAE in the last nine months since assuming office in January this year for the second consecutive term.
She is scheduled to visit the United Kingdom (UK), Italy and Nepal during the current month to attend various international and regional events.
The Prime Minister will deliver a speech at the Oxford Union, UK on 'Girls Education' on November 17.
Hasina was the first Bangladeshi Prime Minister who addressed 'World Peace' at the Oxford Union on January 27, 2011.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to leave London for Rome on November 18 and is expected to return home on November 20.
A few days after her UK and Italy tours, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will travel to Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, to participate in the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) summit to be held on November 26-27.
