Labour leader Shafique dead

Shafiqur Rahman Majumder, a renowned trade union leader, died of old age complications at a city hospital Saturday morning. He was 84.
He left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of well-wishers and friends to mourn his death.
Majumder was President of Jatiya Sramik Federation and member of the advisory council of Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS).
BILS Chairman Muhammad Habibur Rahman Siraj and General Secretary Nazrul Islam expressed deep shock at his death.
BSS adds: His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held in front of the Workers Party's Topkhana Road office and the second Janaza was held after Zohr prayers at QBB Bagicha, Jatrabari in the city Saturday.
He was laid to rest at his family graveyard at Haripur village under Chhagalnaiya Upazila in Feni.
