Labour policy to be on website

The country's Labour Policy 1980 would be posted on website with a view to mobilising public opinion in order to make it time befitting.
This was informed at the 13th meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on Labour and Employment Ministry held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban Sunday, reports BSS.
Chairman of the committee Md Israfil Alam presided over the meeting.
Besides, the meeting was informed the minimum wages for garment sector workers would be announced within the stipulated time by unanimous decision of all concerned including owners and workers.
Rules and regulations of Bangladesh Sramik Kallyan Foundation Act 2006 had been finalised for making it effective immediately, the meeting said.
It also suggested authorities concerned to take measures, as spirit of the War of Liberation would be reflected in the Bangladesh Labour Act 2006.
Committee members Labour and Employment Minister Engr Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain, Noni Gopal Mondal and Rowshan Jahan Sathi attended the meeting.
